State Preschool:

El Dorado County State Preschool programs provide an enriching experience for both full cost and income eligible families with preschool children ages 3 years to kindergarten enrollment.  Subsidized program eligibility is determined by the Department of Education, Child Development Division. A Montessori Preschool is offered on the Rescue Elementary and Blue Oak Elementary School Campus.

Preschool programs provide individualized early education, focusing on school readiness and literacy skills. Each program operates 3.5 hours per day Monday through Friday. Parents are encouraged to become active participants in their child’s preschool education by volunteering in the classroom and participating on Parent Council.

Students enrolled in a 3.5 hour State Preschool program may have the option of enrolling in a 4 hour Head Start program at the same site if available and family is income-eligible.
