School Readiness
Preschool/Kindergarten Transition Plan Project Description:
To meet the needs identified through the Children Learning Initiative, a School Readiness Transition Plan will be written for each participating elementary school in the county, facilitated by a Kindergarten Lead and an ECE Lead. The plan will include transition activities for children between the ages of 0-5 years, with at least one elementary school in each district offering a family literacy program for children ages 0-3 years.

Early Care And Education/Kindergarten School Readiness Articulation Days Description:
For the 2010/11 school year, semi-annual Articulation meetings will be held on the Western Slope/Georgetown Divide and in South Lake Tahoe. The meetings, scheduled for fall and spring, are open to all ECE professionals and Kindergarten teachers serving children in El Dorado County.
The fall 2010 Articulation Day featured Carolyn Brooks, Youth Services Librarian, El Dorado Hills Branch Library. She discussed Early Literacy - Related Brain Research and Literacy Activities for the Classroom.
